What is Aikido
Aikido is a Japanese martial art focused on blending rather than clashing and relying on strength. Aikido teaches you how to be control your body and mind to remain calm under pressure.
There are no tournaments or trophies. Progress comes from improving yourself.

Our Dojo
At Marietta Aikido Center offers traditional Aikido training in a respectful, welcoming environment. Students help each other to gain self-defense skills and confidence which leads to personal growth.




Who is the Instructor
Gifford Pace currently holds a Yondan rank and is certified through the Aikikai Foundation.
He started learning aikido in San Antonio, TX under Tran Sensei and continued in Memphis, TN with Chase Sensei. Upon moving to Atlanta, GA he honed his understanding and skills with Goodman Sensei and the other higher black belts of Kyushinkan dojo. Since Memphis, he has been a member Sato Sensei's Aikido World Alliance which has direct ties to Hombo dojo in Japan.

No. Our philosophy is that all black belts had to be a white belt at some time. That's why our curriculum is designed to meet you where you are in your journey.
Do I need experience to start aikido?
What should I bring or wear to my aikido class?
Just wear comfortable workout clothes until you decide you want to join. Upon joining we will get you set up with a gi.
Can I bring a friend to train with me ?
Of course. Bringing a friend helps many students overcome self-conscious or "newbie" issues. Plus you and your friend now have another experience to share.
